What Are The Risks Of A Brow Lift?
Brow lifts have become increasingly less invasive and safer throughout the past few decades. However, all surgeries, even minor ones, carry some risks. Dr. Sessa will review these with you during a consultation as well as if you are at a higher risk of certain complications based on your medical history. Let’s look at the question, “What are the risks of a brow lift?”
A brow lift comes with traditional surgical risks such as infection, bleeding, prolonged side effects, visible scarring, and skin and nerve damage. These risks are usually mitigable, treatable, and preventable overall. Patients who smoke will have an increased risk of poor healing and scarring.
Local anesthesia can reduce risks associated with general anesthesia. Though this may not be a viable option for all patients and regardless of anesthesia choice, the surgery is overall low risk. Dr. Sessa will review all of the risks and benefits with you during a consultation to help you make an informed decision.
