The under eye area–also called the tear troughs–follows the curve of the orbital bone and constitutes the space between the eye and cheekbones. Juvederm

Administering Under Eye Fillers From Start To Finish

Initial Appointment

Before undergoing tear trough filler injections in Sarasota, you will meet with a qualified provider. They will want to know about your concerns and goal for your filler procedure. From there they may ask about your medical history and lifestyle, such as known allergies and if you smoke. Finally, they may examine the area to determine skin quality and potential causes of the hollowness.

If your provider believes you are a good candidate for under eye fillers, they will discuss your options with you. While it is most likely you will receive hyaluronic acid filler, there are rare cases where your provider may recommend a fat transfer. Filler Injections

First, your provider will disinfect the under eyes. They may also apply numbing cream to ensure comfort during the injections. After ten minutes or so, they will remove the numbing agent and proceed with the injections. Using either a needle or cannula, they will insert the filler into the under eyes.

Depending on your anatomy and the results you want, there may be more than one injection site. Generally, the injections themselves do not take more than ten or fifteen minutes. Along with the numbing cream, most hyaluronic acid fillers contain lidocaine to ease discomfort.

Once the filler is injected, your provider may gently massage the area to help the filler move into the correct position. They will also clean up any pinprick bleeding that may occur. Sometimes ice is applied after treatment.
