(941) 313-7746Winnie W. Lee MD holds board certifications in General Surgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery, and is board eligible in Cosmetic Surgery. After achieving Top Doctor Awards and becoming one of the youngest Chiefs of Thoracic Surgery in the country, she decided to create her own medical surgical spa and immersing herself in the study of aesthetic surgery. She now hails from Los Angeles where she owned and operated fringe iQ, one of the top Medical Surgical Spas in LA, featured on Destination LA, naming her as one of the best spas in the city. She now brings all her surgical skills and the art of aesthetics to Sarasota uniting both beauty and wellness through science-based knowledge.
After graduating from Cornell University as a Howard Hughes Scholar, she attended West Virginia University School of Medicine and completed her general surgery residency at Tufts-New England Medical Center. She finished her Cardiothoracic Surgery residency at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill including a summer in London at the Great Ormand Street Hospital for Sick Children for congenital heart surgery. After a successful career in Thoracic Surgery, she then pursued her passion for creating natural beauty by completing her fellowship in cosmetic surgery with Dr. Alberico J. Sessa in Sarasota. Dr. Lee loved the community so she decided to move her LA practice to Sarasota and join Sarasota Surgical Arts.
Outside of her practice, she is a concert violinist having performed in Lincoln Hall Alice Tully Hall in NYC and been a teacher of the Suzuki Method to children. She is also a mountaineer having climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mt. Kinabalu while also enjoying nature hikes and all aspects of the outdoors. Her many interests include global travel, arts, sports, marathons and triathlons with a Half Ironman under her belt, and is in the process of writing an interactive e-book for children. She looks forward to adding more to her list with her new home in Florida.
