Before & After Tummy Tuck Tampa
Consultation With Dr. Sessa
A tummy tuck consultation can take place in the Sarasota Surgical Arts office or through virtual means. The most important part of the consultation is for Dr. Sessa to examine the patient’s abdomen, skin quality, amount of extra skin, and other factors that may affect the procedure. This may include an in-office exam, a video exam, or sending in photos via email.
Dr. Sessa will also review the patient’s medical history. This may include past surgeries, medical conditions, current medications they take, any allergies, BMI, and if a patient smokes. He will consider the patient as a whole and determine if a tummy tuck is the best procedure for them.
At the end of the consultation, the patient will also receive a customized price quote for their tummy tuck in Tampa and any other procedures part of the consultation. Patients can also review financing and payment options.
Abdominoplasty Surgery
For a tummy tuck surgery, Dr. Sessa will make an incision below the panty line from hip to hip. He will use this incision to access the abdominal muscles and remove extra skin. Once the extra skin is removed and the muscles tightened, Dr. Sessa will bring the remaining skin down to meet the incision for a tighter and more toned abdomen appearance.
Dr. Sessa may also perform liposuction to remove excess fat. He can transfer this fat into the buttocks or breasts if desired. Patients also frequently undergo breast surgery with a tummy tuck. This combination is called a mommy makeover. Dr. Sessa can also help a patient determine if a combination surgery is right for them.
